Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Prudent is seeking a Junior Engineer with civil/site skills for our Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse office. Experience in structural design a plus.

What you'll be able to do:

  • Feasibility studies, conceptual designs, design calculations, final design specifications, engineering, construction cost estimates, and support of permitting applications
  • Participate in field condition inspections, safety assessments, and assist in the production of appropriate technical reports of findings
  • Provide day-to-day support and oversight of project elements
  • Assist construction management field and office support as required
  • Represent Prudent Engineering at project meetings as needed

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • BS Civil Engineering preferred (AAS Civil Tech minimum)
  • Proficient with: HEC- RAS, MicroStation (inroads), Autodesk AutoCAD, and MS Office software
  • Additional experience with any of the following would be a plus: bridge design, highway design, design of earthworks, GIS, stream bed and bank stabilization, survey, emergency action plans, fish passage, wetland identification, and water control structure operations
  • Ability to work independently on project assignments
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
